First Office of Halai Memon Moti Jamat, Ahmedabad
Our History
Our Journey
In 1945, several Memon families from various parts of Gujarat relocated to Ahmedabad for business purposes. Approximately 50 families settled in the areas of Mirzapur, Shahpur, and Jamalpur, maintaining close connections with one another.
In 1964, the Jamat’s constitution was crafted by Janaab Wali Mohammed Bhai Isani Sahab, formalizing the structure and objectives of the organization.
Establishment
In 1952, with the support of other community members, Janab Ali Mohammad Bhai Ami Bhai initiated the establishment of ‘Halai Memon Moti Jamat’ in Ahmedabad. The primary goal of this organization was to foster unity within the community and provide assistance to its needy members. Over time, the number of families grew from 50 to 75, and then to 100. Ali Mohammad Bhai Ami Bhai served as the first president of Halai Memon Moti Jamat until 1964.
More about us

Established to provide support and foster unity, the organization has consistently played a pivotal role in addressing the needs and aspirations of the community. Our mission is to create a cohesive and supportive environment where every member can thrive.
Our Committees
To efficiently manage our activities and initiatives, we have established nine specialized committees, each focusing on specific areas of community welfare.
Financial Help Committee
The Financial Help Committee provides essential financial assistance to families in need, particularly for health and education purposes. A significant portion of this aid is funded through Zakat contributions from the community. Our goal is to ensure that no member is deprived of basic health services and educational opportunities due to financial constraints.
Health & Medical Committee
The Health & Medical Committee organizes various health-related initiatives, including health checkup camps, blood donation drives, and cataract camps. In collaboration with the Financial Help Committee, we offer financial assistance to families facing medical emergencies, ensuring comprehensive health support for our members.
Sports Committee
The Sports Committee promotes physical fitness and camaraderie through sports activities. We organize cricket tournaments and other sports events, including the Memon Premier League, which features an IPL-like auction for cricket teams. These activities are designed to engage the community and foster a spirit of healthy competition.
Fund Raising Committee
The Fund Raising Committee is crucial to our sustainability, managing the collection of donations to fund our various initiatives. Their efforts ensure that we have the necessary resources to support our programs and reach our community goals.
Office Admin Committee
The Office Admin Committee oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization, including basic bookkeeping and administrative tasks. They are also responsible for the digitalization of committee work, ensuring efficient and transparent management of our activities.
Faisla Committee
The Faisla Committee provides guidance and support to resolve internal disputes among family members. Their role is to mediate conflicts and promote harmony within the community, helping members navigate personal challenges with wisdom and compassion.
Lavajam Committee
The Lavajam Committee manages the collection of membership fees, which are vital for the smooth operation of our daily administrative tasks. Their efforts ensure that the organization remains financially stable and capable of executing its various functions.
Education Committee
Dedicated to the upliftment of our community’s youth, the Education Committee conducts motivational and educational programs to inspire students. They also provide financial assistance to economically disadvantaged students, helping them complete their education and pursue their dreams.
